Red Roses, often referred to as Valentine Village, is a village situated in South West Carmarthenshire, South Wales. The village lies 3 miles north from Pendine Sands of Carmarthen Bay and the popular holiday resort of Pendine, accessed via the B4314 running close to Red Roses.
Eglwyscummin Community is an area comprised of Red Roses and the surrounding villages of Marros and Ciffig. The name Eglwyscummin translates as 'church community' and now contains the ancient churches of St Lawrence, St Margaret and St Ciffig.
Farm land surrounds Red Roses and this land is also home to numerous caravan parks and holiday destinations. The local public house, 'The Sporting Chance,' is well known for its local produce and freshly prepared cuisines. The pub is opposite the new community centre, which now inhabits the location where the Methodist Chapel once stood. The community centre received funding in 2007 and was built in 2008
There is a pleasant circular walk from Red Roses to the Marros Sands directly south of the village. From here the walk continues east toward Pendine and the glorious Pendine Sands. There are a number of options to complete the return journey from Pendine but the approximate distance for the circular walk is 8 miles.
