Llangynwyd is situated some two miles south of Maesteg in Bridgend county, South Wales. The mountains Margam and Moel Ton-mawr sit to the east of the village.
Although small the village is perfectly formed and Llangynwyd offers a parish church; the ruins of Llangynwyd castle; and one of the oldest pubs in Wales.
The coastal village of Kenfig sits nearby, with a large nature reserve home to an abundance of wildlife, and the impressive remains of a Norman castle.
