Llanedeyrn is a district of Cardiff, situated between Cyncoed and Llanrumney in South Wales. It is named after the 6th century saint Ederyn, who, along with St Islan, travelled around Wales preaching and spreading the word of faith.
The parish church is dedicated to St Ederyn. It is simple in style and dates back to 1123. Although small restorations have been made to the building, it still maintains many of its Norman features, such as the fine detailed windows and doorframes.
The Unicorn pub sits next to St Edeyrn Church, and while not having the age of the church is not doing too bad having survived since the fifteenth century.
Llanedeyrn is some 3 miles (5km) from the city centre of Cardiff, where high street shops and large department stores. The city also has a vibrant nightlife, with plenty of bars, pubs, restaurants and nightclubs to choose from.
