Llanddona is a charming village found on the east coast of Anglesey, situated on the sweep of the beautiful Red Wharf Bay yet close to the seaside resort of Beaumaris. Although the village does not include any shops, it certainly makes up for it with its magnificent beach and many water activities.
Llanddona beach has won many Blue Flag and Seaside Awards. The beach is extremely clean and safe, with a dog ban in place from May until September, ensuring that your summer days spent on Llanddona beach are as relaxing as possible. If you want to do something more energetic than just sitting back and relaxing, then try your hand at sea canoeing, sailing or fishing. The long sandy beach is actually the eastern end of the spectacular Red Wharf Bay. The excellent quality of water (2007) is popular for swimming, paddling, beach combing, windsurfing and plain walking. Being on the route of the Anglesey Coastal Path there are miles of walks available in all directions including short walks to Penmon Priory and Holy Well, and the town of Beaumaris on the Menai Strait. Once tired of the beach, you can enjoy a refreshing drink at the village pub whilst watching the sun set over the sea. Although hotels and guesthouses are not aplenty in Llanddona, there are several self-catering cottages both in the village and surrounding area. So if you want to enjoy a short break on one of Wales's most beautiful beaches, then come straight to Llanddona…
