Llanarth is located on the A487 between Aberystwyth and Cardigan, in Ceredigion, West Wales. Set just inland from the Cardigan Bay coast, it is centered on the crossroads formed where the A487 coast road meets the B4342 to New Quay, and is within three miles of both Aberaeron and New Quay. It may be one of the oldest settlements in the county, but Llanarth isn't stuck in the Middle Ages.

If you're fortunate to be staying in the village, then you'll have a Post Office, public house (Llanina Arms), convenience store, petrol station, garden store and last but not least a church, right on your doorstep. And if you're only visiting for a few hours, you can still appreciate the beautiful scenery and modern attractions surrounding Llanarth. The seaside resort of New Quay is only three miles away—you won't even have to use the car to get there from Llanarth!

And if all you want is to lie in the sun, then there are a total of three beaches and two harbours in New Quay,

from where you can spot an array of wildlife, most famously the dolphins that visit the harbour almost daily.

But if you're restless and love outdoors sports, why not try sailing, surfing, windsurfing, sea kayaking or canoeing from the harbour beach by the Lifeboat station The resorts of Llangrannog, Aberaeron, and Aberporth are also within easy reach of Llanarth and each are great starting points for walking the Cardigan Bay Coastal Path.

The beaches and the coastline are some of the best in Wales. Not a sunny day Don't worry; you can always head to the Llywernog Silver Mine, a mine-museum telling the story of the 18th century mine which employed over 60 people. If you're looking for accommodation, try hiring one of the cosy self-catering cottages in the glorious countryside nearby.

Llanarth church is associated with a legend of the Devil. The Devil creeps into the church and tries to steal one of the church bells. In the process of his theft he wakes the vicar who challenges him with the name of Christ. Eventually the Devil concedes, and jumps off the church tower. He is said to have left the marks of his hooves on a stone in the graveyard when he landed.
