Aberbeeg is situated in the county of Blaenau Gwent, South Wales. Formerly a mining community, Aberbeeg is now a quiet, rural village, which sits on the confluence of the Ebbw Fach River and the larger Ebbw River. Nearby towns and villages include Crumlin, Blackwood, Oakdale, Bargoed, Abersychan, Cwm, Ebbw Vale and Glanaethwy. Although the railway was closed in 1962, it has since begun again. A shuttle bus runs hourly, taking passengers to the nearest train station at Llanhilleth, just 3 mins from Aberbeeg.
