St Florence is a quiet little village 4 miles from Tenby in Pembrokeshire, South West Wales. It takes its name from the saint that the village church is dedicated to. The church is said to be one of the oldest in this part of Wales, having been built at some time in the 12th century. In the 13th century it was expanded and the tower was added during the 1500s. In 1870 it underwent a large restoration, with the pulpit and organ being installed. Later in 1963 the tower and bells were restored and there are now six bells instead of the previous four. The churchyard contains the grave of Bishop Ferrar of St Davids, who was burnt at the stake in 1555 at Carmarthen, and Robert Rudd who became Archbishop of St Davids.
