The village of Pontrhydfendigaid lies on the western flank of the Cambrian Mountains in Ceredigion Mid Wales. It is located between Devil's Bridge and Tregaron on the B4574 in the shadows of the mountains of Dibyn Du (530m) and Pen y Bwlch (503m). Pontrhydfendigaid straddles the River Teifi and is indeed just 5km south east from the source of the Teifi at Llyn Teifi.
There are several walks in the area including the walk to Llyn Teifi and the Teifi Pools, a group of lakes that include Llyn Teifi, Llyn Hir, Llyn Gorlan, and Llyn Egnant. The landscape around the lakes is stark, wild, and extraordinarily beautiful, and there are good views down to Cors Caron (Tregaron Bog) and the Teifi Valley. The village is popular with walkers and cyclists and those looking for some peace in the Welsh countryside and being just 36 minutes away from the seaside resort of Aberaeron, visitors have the choice of mountain-side or sea-side. ....
