Newtown is a small district of Ebbw Vale in the county of Blaenau Gwent, South Wales. It is bordered by Beaufort to the north, Ebbw Vale to the south, Tredegar to the west and Nantyglo to the east. Nearby towns and villages include Rhymney, Rassau, Llechryd, Merthyr Tydfil, Bargoed, Cwm, Abertillery, Blaenavon, Blaina, Abergavenny and Llanellen. The Ebbw River runs to the west of Newtown to its estuary at Uskmouth, 26.8 miles south east of the district.
