Nantymoel is situated in the Ogmore valley, Bridgend county, south Wales. It is backed by the Llangeinwyr mountain and is 3.5km north of Ogmore Forest. The A4061 travels north through Nantyclawdd, passes Bwlch y Clawdd, and connects to Treorchy and the Rhondda Valley, as well as the A4107 road which travels west.
A former mining village, Nantymoel and the surrounding area lived off the success of the coal industry. However, when the last pit closed in 1983, it sent unemployment rocketing. These days residents of the village must travel to Bridgend for work.....
