Nant Peris sits between Llanberis and Capel Curig on the A4086 in Gwynedd, North Wales. You couldn't be closer to the mountains than when you're in the village of Nant Peris. Sheltering in the foothills of Mount Snowdon, it is a mere 3km from the Snowdon Mountain Railway (easiest route to the top - sitting on the train), or take the Pyg Track from Pen y Pass just 5.5km down the A4086 road (suitable for more experienced mountain walkers - catch the Sherpa Bus to the start of the walk at the Pen y Pass car park). The town of Llanberis itself is just a short drive (3km) in the opposite direction alongside Llyn Peris and passing the remains of the famous Dolbadarn Castle on the way. Another lake to be discovered is the beautiful Llyn Gwynant, on the eastern side of Snowdon and 12.9km south east of Nant Peris along the A498.
