Llanhilleth is situated between Crumlin and Brynithel in Blaenau Gwent, South Wales. The village is close to the A467 Blackrock to Newport road, giving a good opportunity to visit surrounding villages and towns. Llanhilleth also lies on the Ebbw river which is formed by the confluence of the Ebbw Fach and Ebbw Fawr rivers. The river flows through Abercarn and Risca before joining the Usk and entering the sea at the Severn estuary.
On the outskirts of Llanhilleth are two large mounds, believed to be the remains of a castle which once stood here. Historians say that the mounds are all that is left of two stone towers.....
