Llangathen sits close to the A40 road between Llandeilo and Carmarthen, in Camarthenshire, South West Wales. The river Tywi passes to the south of Llangathen and is the longest river to run entirely through Wales. It is praised by anglers for its excellent stock of salmon and trout.
Within the small village can be found one of the finest gardens in Wales. Aberglasney House and Gardens are spectacularly set in the beautiful Tywi valley of Carmarthenshire. The story of Aberglasney spans many centuries, and the Gardens have been an inspiration to poets since 1477. Aberglasney, its gardens and its magnificent house, are being restored to their earlier glory. ....
