Llanddaniel Fab is situated on the south west of the Isle of Anglesey, North Wales. It is a quiet village just 5 minutes drive from Menai Bridge, Llanfairpwll, and Llangefni, and 10 minutes from the romantic Llanddwyn Island, famous for the legend of Dwynwen the Welsh patron saint of lovers. Indeed the whole of Anglesey and its glorious beaches are just a short drive from Llanddaniel. The Irish ferry at Holyhead is just 22 minutes away on the A5. Although small, Llanddaniel still has plenty of amenities to keep its visitors happy, including an art gallery and a 9 hole golf complex, and being on Anglesey you are never far from a fantastic seaside or country walk. But Llanddaniel is most famous as the home of Wales' most prestigious ancient monument, Bryn Celli Ddu. The 4000 year old neolithic burial chamber is situated on the border of Llanddaniel and visitors come from all quarters of the globe to see this atmospheric tomb. For some more recent history, Plas Newydd is just 5 minutes away on the banks of the Menai Strait. Plas Newydd is an 18th century neo-Gothic house, now owned by the National Trust. The house was built by James Wyatt and has strong connections with the artist Rex Whistler, whose largest painting is housed here.
