Although called a 'city', City Dulas is in actual fact a small hamlet in the north eastern corner of the Isle of Anglesey, North Wales. It is bordered by the village of Llaneuddog to the north, Brynrefail to the south, Pentre Eirianell to the east, Penygraigwen to the west, and Dulas to the north east. Nearby villages include Llaneilian, Gadfa, Brynrefail, Llanallgo and Moelfre. Part of the Afon Goch (which translates as Red River) flows through City Dulas, before travelling through Traeth Dulas (Dulas Beach) to the fabulous estuary at Dulas Bay, around 2.5km north east of the hamlet. There are many stories as to where the hamlet has claimed its city status. Some believe that there was a ship named City, which was then given to the name of a pub and eventually the name of the hamlet. However, others believe it descends from a fictitious woman who ran the local pub and went by the name Cidi Dulas. The Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path, a popular footpath that takes in the whole island, is close by, around 400m to the east of City Dulas. Other points of interest include two of Wales' most important ancient monuments the Din Lligwy post-Roman settlement and the Lligwy Bronze Age Burial Chamber close to the village of Llanallgo, just 5 minutes drive away from City Dulas.
