Burry Port can be found in Carmarthenshire, in the south west of Wales, between Tenby and Swansea. While Burry Port grew as a small coal-port in the Industrial Revolution, today the harbour is a marina for small leisure craft.
Not only did the town make its name in the coal industry, but it also has a place in airplane history. In June 1928, Miss Amelia Earheart became the first woman to fly across the Atlantic, after she landed in Burry Port following a twenty two hour flight from Newfoundland.....
