The small village of Beaufort is situated north of Ebbw Vale in the county of Blaenau Gwent, South Wales. The village name derived from the Duke of Beaufort, who owned the majority of the local land. Nearby towns and villages include Tredegar, Rhymney, Brynmawr, Nantyglo, Blaina, Llechryd, Llangynidr and Merthyr Tydfil.
As well as a leisure centre, Beaufort is home to many event venues. The Beaufort Theatre puts on numerous performances and events throughout the year, and several workshops and activities are also held here. There is also a cinema which shows all the latest box office films. A Blues festival is held annually in nearby Abertillery, with previous acts including Earl Thomas, Andy Fairweather Low and his band the Low Riders, and the Oli Brown Band.
