Bargoed is a former industrial town in the county of Caerphilly, South Wales. It grew up around the coal mining industry, with the opening of a colliery in 1903. This closed in the 1980s and has since become a peaceful country park, complete with bike trails, lakes and walks.
The town centre is currently undergoing a regeneration, including new shops and improvements to the bypass road.
