Pendoylan lies in the Ely Valley between Peterston-super-Ely and the Hensol Forest, in the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales. The residents are proud of their village and have won several awards in the “Best Kept Village� competitions.

There are several pleasant walks in the local area and the Valeways Millennium Heritage Trail follows the banks of the River Ely close to Pendoylan en route from Llanharry to St Nicholas. | The parish church of St Cadoc’s (who was born circa 497), may well have been founded in the saints lifetime, but most of the building is 14th century. Restorations were made in the 15th and 16th century but most notably in the 19th century. The building is in the Norman style and has a massive embattled western tower containing a ring of six bells.The chancel arch is in the early perpendicular style of the 14th Century. The stairs to the rood loft are perfectly preserved, and in the chancel there is a priest’s door which is walled up within.
