Pembrey Nature Reserve and Forest stands in a spectacular location on the edge of Carmarthen Bay in South Wales.
The Nature Reserve and Forest is a part of Pembrey Country Park and there are several fine walks through the forest and along the Cefn Sidan Sands. The waymarked Pines Trail is a circular walk that starts at Pembrey Country Park Visitor Centre, turning right from the beach path to follow the wide, straight woodland trail. The walk is very well way-marked and can be done with or without the accompanying leaflet that is available from the visitor centre.
Walkers on the All Wales Coastal Path cut into the country park en-route to Burry Port, and would be well advised to divert from the official route for a few hundred yards to visit the miles of golden sands on Cefn Sidan beach.
Both horse riding and cycling are popular activities at Pembrey – choose to bring your own bike or hire a cycle or mountain bike from Ski Pembrey (yes there is a ski and toboggan run at Pembrey). Or trek through the forest on horseback - an experience not to be missed. You can choose from 25 lovely ponies and horses which are available for hire.
