Cwm Bychan is a pass that cuts through the hills south east of the village of Beddgelert in Gwynedd North Wales. (Not to be mistaken for Llyn Cwm Bychan a small lake above the town of Llanbedr). The cwm is notable for its fine views and also the abandoned copper mining machinery, relics of an earlier industrial past.
A track through Cwm Bychan joins the Aberglaslyn Pass to Llyn Dinas as part of a circular walk around the village of Beddgelert. Subject to the right weather Cwm Bychan can be part of a relatively easy walk with glorious views of the Snowdonia National Park and Llyn Dinas. Indeed when we last walked through Cwm Bychan we met a young family, from Beddgelert, at the summit of the route, who rather surprisingly were pushing a baby in a buggy!
