In Victorian times thousands of visitors flocked to Llandrindod Wells to "take the waters". The heady days of those Victorian times have long since gone but Llandrindod Wells has reinvented itself as a popular inland resort. Located in the old county of Radnorshire, Mid Wales, just north of the Breacon Beacons National Park it has plenty of natural beauty to tempt passersby to stay—and some of them never leave!
With a wonderful manmade lake, museum, and rock park and spa, Llandrindod Wells certainly has a variety of attractions and also has plenty of sporting facilities, including the Llandrindod Sporting Centre, crazy golf course, and the Heart of Wales Walking Festival begins from here each September. In the surrounding area, the Royal Welsh show is held in July of each year in Llanelwedd, 6 miles from Llandrindod Wells. With its many competitions, such as sheep shearing and horse riding, there are plenty of activities to tempt everyone. There is also the Oakland Small Breeds Farm in nearby Kington and the Wyeside Arts Centre just 7 miles outside Builth Wales, displaying brilliant art and craftwork from local artists. The town centre too offers plenty of amenities, as well as the weekly market and the monthly farmers market. There is a wide range of accommodation from hotels and B&Bs to self-catering cottages and caravan parks. You will be sure to have a comfortable and fun filled stay in Llandrindod Wells.
