Llandeilo is a town in Carmarthenshire, south-west Wales, situated at the crossing of the River Tywi by the A483. This charming Victorian-style town has much to offer the visitor to Wales.
Come here to explore the 12th century Dinefwr Castle, built by the Princes of Deheubarth and later captured by the English King Edward 1 during his campaign to conquer the Welsh. Close by there is Newton House and Dinefwr Park, an 18th-century landscape park, enclosing a medieval deer park. Dinefwr is home to more than one hundred fallow deer and a small herd of Dinefwr White Park Cattle. A number of scenic walks are available including access to Dinefwr Castle, with fine views across the Towy Valley.
Walkers / ramblers will appreciate the obvious attractions of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Or visit the Gelli Aur Country Park, where you can take some fabulous walks. Close by are the National Botanic Gardens, opened in 2000, with hundreds of different species of lush plants and flowers, an art gallery, restaurant and café.
