Llanarth is a village located on the A487 between Aberystwyth and Cardigan, in Ceredigion, West Wales. Set just inland from the Cardigan Bay coast it is within three miles of both Aberaeron and New Quay. It may be one of the oldest settlements in Ceredigion, but Llanarth isn’t stuck in the Middle Ages. If you’re lucky enough to be staying in the village, then you’ll have a Post Office, public house, convenience store and garden store right on your doorstep. And if you’re only visiting for a few hours, you can still appreciate the beautiful scenery and modern attractions surrounding Llanarth.

The seaside resort of New Quay is within walking distance for those hardy ramblers who frequent the area! And if all you want is to lie in the sun, then there are a total of three beaches and two harbours in New Quay, from where you can spot an array of wildlife, most famously the dolphins that visit the harbour almost daily. But if you’re restless and love outdoors sports, why not try sailing, surfing, windsurfing, sea kayaking or canoeing from the harbour beach by the Lifeboat station? The resorts of Llangrannog, Aberaeron, and Aberporth are also within easy reach of Llanarth and each are great starting points for walking the Cardigan Bay Coastal Path. The beaches and the coastline are some of the best in Wales. Not a sunny day? Don’t worry; you can always head to the Llywernog Silver Mine, a mine-museum telling the story of the 18th century mine which employed over 60 people.
