rocket, create an electrical circuit and watch a colony of ants at work
all in one day?
Techniquest the hands-on science centre in Cardiff Bay. Children and
adults alike are enthralled by the vast array of puzzles, gadgets and
structures in the main exhibition hall. Then, when you tire of playing,
you can relax and take in a show in the Science Theatre, or gaze at the
stars in the Planetarium.
Throughout the year Techniquest offers a range of programmes and
special events on different topics, all designed to engage people in
science. Many of the special events take place at weekends and in school
holidays as during term time Techniquest runs special education
programmes for schools.
Finding a day out that will keep the whole family entertained is no
easy task, but at Techniquest there is something to keep everyone happy
for a couple of hours or more. When the energy is flagging Café Quest
is an oasis overlooking the waterfront. Hot and cold meals, sandwiches,
snacks, drinks and confectionary are all available. Allow time to visit
the Techniquest shop where you can find toys and books on science themes
in addition to other interesting gifts and souvenirs.
Techniquest has an in-house workshop team that design, build, install
and maintain our exhibits. Techniquest sells and hires out exhibits to
other institutions in more than thirty countries worldwide. It once sold
