Aberystwyth north beach is located between the headlands of Aberystwyth Castle and Constitution Hill in Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, West Wales. It is a sand and shingle beach backed by a colourful crescent of hotels and guest houses and a nicely paved promenade. The water is lovely and clear and there are lifeguards on the beach during the summer holidays. Being west facing you will be treated to beautiful sunsets over Cardigan Bay on Aberystwyth beach.
Families are well catered for with boat trips into the Bay and traditional seaside entertainments such as donkey rides and childrens' games. For the more active there is windsurfing, canoeing and sailing from Aberystwyth beach.
Aberystwyth Pier projects out from the promenade and offers all the fun of a traditional British seaside pier. The pier may be rather short but what it lacks in length it makes up for with facilities. The restaurant is open 7 days a week and (as of 2010)the Bar is open twenty four hours a day! With resident Djs the pier nightclub lives up to its name of the busiest nightclub in Aberystwyth. And don't forget the Amusement Arcade and Social & Snooker Club...the Royal Pier, Aberystwyth, bringing you some of the best entertainment in Wales!
Being close to the town there is no shortage of beach facilities with toilets, disabled toilets, alfresco cafes and restaurants. There is a promenade and disabled access to the beach plus the added bonus these days of deckchairs for hire.
